Stride to Pride Ponies

Kinshaldy Stables is the home of the Stride to Pride Ponies. Our 13 miniature Shetland ponies are available to book for parties which are held within our pony party barn. Your party can then continue in our self-catering party room! The options are endless of how to tailor your party.

Our fantastically natured ponies are also available for team building experiences and therapy sessions.

Livery

Occasionally we have availability for new liveries to join us. 24/7 turnout is available, use of our secure enclosed arena and endless miles of hacking within Tentsmuir Forest and onto Kinshaldy Beach. Please get in contact to discuss you and your horses individual requirements.

My daughter is taking riding lessons here and is really enjoying herself , staff are patient helpful and polite and really good at there job , horses are well looked after and highly trained so ensuring maximum safety for riders , refreshments for sale on site , tea , coffee , tins juice etc , would highly recommend to anyone wishing to take riding lessons, 10/10 , gift vouchers available for hacks and lessons in a really beautiful location , well worth a visit

Fantastic Service and incredibly kind!!After a very hectic day where i got two flat tyres on my way to the lesson, Megan and her colleagues could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Including a ride back to the train station for me and my friend and our two muddy bikes. Incredible service, will definitely be returning & highly recommend!!

Our grandchildren (4 and 8 years) absolutely love to visit Kinshaldy Stables when they are visiting our holiday steadings in Leuchars. Laura and staff go out of their way to make their riding lessons great fun - their encouragement and enthusiasm is very catching and the kids love it! After a Google search and a view phone calls these stables were recommended to us. (It's a shame they aren't mentioned on any of the Visit Scotland info pages.)Our phone call was well received and we were booked for pony trek within a couple of hours of the phone call. We booked a 30-minute pony ride for two inexperienced riders. The girls were led out on a walk/ trot which they thoroughly enjoyed.Thank you top Megan and Grace who led Bernie and Maddie. We will definitely be back.The stables are located in the scenic Tentsmuir Forest.I also thought the price was reasonable.

Both our girls absolutely love Kinshaldy stables and we are all delighted it’s open again.

All of the staff, volunteers and Horses are so friendly and always welcoming. The lessons are excellent and each week the girls are improving.

The location of the stables make it all the more special with lovely hacks in the Forrest and also walking distance down to Tentsmuir for a walk on the beach, some fun in the play park and food options with Salt and Pine shack.

A fantastic day out made possible with the fantastic Kinshaldy stables for our daughters Horse Lessons 🐴 🐴 ☀️

Very friendly staff. My Children always feel at ease and enjoy chatting to the staff/helpers as well as getting fabulous lessons and hacks through the forest. Very Covid-19 friendly. Cleaning inbetween riders. Masks worn at all times. We love it here 🥰

This is an amazing stables offering hacks and lessons, the staff are excellent and make the students feel at ease, the lessons are just long enough to keep the children's attention and there is a great selection of ponies for the kids to learn on.

Decided to have my daughter's 5th birthday party here today and all I can say is WOW! What a day to remember. Everyone at Kinshaldy is wonderful, professional and have a lovely manner with kids. They are clearly very well experienced in what they do. Not only did the kids all get to ride on a pony, each and every staff member ensured they thoroughly talked each of the children through what they were doing and why- making their experience educational too. Laura who co-ordinated everything was very approachable, experienced and professional. Even when the day was running a bit behind she ensured is there was no rush and let us have extra time. It's little things like this that makes the experience truly memorable. Fantastic day had by all. Keep up the amazing work you are doing with your very well trained and looked after horses and ponies and the services you provide for the public. 5 OUT OF 5 STARS to you all!!

I rode at Kinshaldy 12 years ago.
Was delighted ro find out the riding school was once again running and Laura still at the helm.
Booked my self and my 2 children (David and Mia) in for a hack and a half hour lesson.
One of my Children has an invisible disability.
Not only were they welcomed, looked after and included.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure there experience was one they would never forget!
Thank you so much for your kind caring and considerate nature!
We can't wait for summer as we are back visiting family.
Tell Bailey, Bernie and Kizzy we miss them!
And please give all the stable hands a hug or five high from us, as thete an amazing team.

Had our first visit here today for my little boys 2nd birthday, he is absolutely obsessed with horses so we thought a pony trek would be the ideal birthday present and it certainly didnt disappoint! Every single person we met was so nice and welcoming and of course Miss Prim was an absolute star! Harry had an amazing day and we thank yous all so much for that. special thanks to laura and ryan for being so great with harry aswell. Laura is an absolutely amazing instructor- and I have been riding in many places- she is by far the best teacher I’ve ever had and I’m fortunate that she is teaching my son to ride.
The ponies and horses are loved and well looked after and they pay back with kindness. They can be totally trusted to ride.
Finally, the location is fabulous for forest hacks and the beach rides are to die for.
Can’t recommend highly enough- I cannot believe how you don’t need to book weeks in advance, I’m sure it’s just a question of time though.

Laura is a fantastic instructor. She's sympathetic to kids and their nerves and fears, but pushes them enough to allow them to progress. She's always encouraging and makes lessons fun. Horses are well cared for and we'll suited to riders. My daughter would move in if she could!!

Laura is an amazing instructor, my kids and I have been going for lessons and hacks for a few months now (fortnightly) and the progress in the children have been phenomenal (I’m just refreshing), the patience and support that has been given to them is more than I could have ever expected. We always get a warm welcome and everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. My daughter had a fantastic party in the party barn. She was in her element grooming the her very own pony for the afternoon. Laura was great at explaining everything to them so they understood and enjoyed themselves. Having a wee ride on a pony was definitely a highlight. We spent the afternoon at Kinshaldy Stables today and had a wonderful time. Laura and her colleagues made us so welcome and were very kind to our highly inquisitive kids! This was their first real experience with horses and I think they will be hooked! The horses were very nice and you can tell they live a good life there! I highly recommend this riding school!
